Tweede wijn van Château La Mission Haut-Brion.
Super aromatic and fragrant, dark black berries and perfumed touches with minty freshness and chocolate. Supple and generous, really quite fruity and lively but also quite tannic. A nicely weighted palate with concentrated blackcurrant and strawberry fruits with freshly picked mint, liquorice spice and clove. You can feel the heat of the vintage in the depth and concentration of the fruit but there’s no overt heaviness and nothing harsh here. Tannins are nicely supportive and fleshy giving some bounce and fun to the palate. Juicy and bright, mouthwatering but cool and crunchy too. Really lovely texture and intensity. Maybe not so refined and delicate, but wow this gives a lot of flavour and punch while keeping the juiciness. | Decanter | 2023 | 93

Château La Mission Haut-Brion, Cru Classé uit Pessac-Léognan is sinds 1983 in het bezit van de familie Dillon, de eigenaar van Château Haut-Brion. Het werd nooit opgenomen in de classificatie van 1855 alhoewel het destijds duurder was dan de huidige tweede cru’s. Er worden grootse wijnen voortgebracht die internationaal veel liefhebbers kent; rijke, intense, weelderige en aantrekkelijke wijnen die goed rijpen. De 26 hectare wijngaarden zijn bestaan uit 45,8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43,8% Merlot en 10,4% Cabernet Franc. Tweede wijn: La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion. Tevens produceert men een prachtige door Semillon gedomineerde witte wijn: La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc.
