The 2019 Inversus, the estate’s blend of Merlot and a touch of Sangiovese, is a rich, heady wine. A blast of dark cherry, plum, licorice, menthol, espresso, tobacco and incense makes a strong opening statement. Potent and sumptuous in the glass, with tons of fruit intensity and a long finish, Inversus is quite the powerhouse. It’s a beautifully done wine, in this style. | Vinous | 93

Druiven: 90% merlot, 10% sangiovese

In 1992 nemen Giovanni en Emilia d’Orsi het wijngoed Casaloste over in Panzano dat in het hart van van de Chianti Classico streek ligt. Met hun eerste wijnproductie in 1993 zijn ze ook de eerste biologische wijnproducent in de regio. Sangiovese is uiteraard de belangrijkste soort die is aangeplant maar daarnaast wordt er ook merlot verbouwd. Men produceer er hoog gewaardeerde wijnen. Volle en verfijnde wijnen die zowel krachtig als elegant zijn, met rijp fruit en kruidige tonen en een hoog bewaarpotentieel.
