Tweede wijn van Château Lynch-Bages.
Blue fruits, subtle perfume, a juicy blackcurrant and stony minerality on the nose. Supple and juicy, a real sense of fun with detail to the fine tannins. Well balanced, gorgeous texture, depth and characterful. A great second wine still with terroir markers, a salty finish, chalky texture and grippy tannins. Still concentrated and serious, there’s an intensity to the fruit but really well delivered. Will be a beauty.| Decanter | 2023 | 93
Druiven: 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc.
Château Lynch-Bages, Cinquième Grand Cru Classé uit Pauillac, kent dezelfde eigenaar als Château Les Ormez de Pes uit Saint-Estèphe en Château Villa Bel-Air uit Graves. Château Lynch-Bages presteerde al jaren geweldig maar nu er recentelijk (2019) een grootscheepse renovatie werd afgerond mag worden verwacht dat de kwaliteit van de wijn zich verder zal verbeteren. Het domein presteert duidelijk beter dan haar 5e Cru status. Het merendeel, 75%, van de 100 hectare is beplant met cabernet sauvignon, 17% merlot, 6% cabernet franc en 2% met petit verdot. Rijke, krachtige, geconcentreerde en elegante wijnen met prima bewaarpotentieel. Tweede wijn; Echo de Lynch-Bages. Verder is er nog zo’n 6 hectare wijngaard voor de productie van hun witte Bordeaux Blanc de Lynch-Bages (al sinds 1990) met 53% sauvignon blanc, 32% semillon en 15% muscadelle.
