The 2015 Moulin St Georges has really evolved on the nose since I tasted the wine from barrel. There is still a soupçon of broodiness, but there are now complex aromas of blackberry, raspberry preserve, rose petals and a distant scent of the sea (just like the 2015 Haut Simard). The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, a fine bead of acidity, very precise and harmonious with a silky smooth, seductive finish that risks consumers opening this too early. Don’t! Druiven : 80% merlot, 20% cabernet franc
Château Moulin Saint-Georges, gelegen in Saint-Émilion, is een Grand Cru Classé. Sinds 1921 is het Château eigendom van de familie Vauthier, tevens eigenaar van Château Ausone & Château Fonbel. De 7 hectare wijngaarden zijn grotendeels beplant met Merlot (85%) en Cabernet Franc (15%), de gemiddelde leeftijd van de stokken is 30 jaar. De grand vin rijpt gedurende 18 maanden in Frans eiken vaten waarvan 85% nieuw. Het vinificatie proces wordt door het team van Château Ausone gedaan.
