Vibrant, deep and darkly fruited, a touch of prune and raisin but also lots of herbal-edged blackcurrant and black cherries. Liquorice stands out, as does wet slate, pencil lead and salty stones; lots going on here. It’s not quite there in terms of harmony but I like the impression. It feels a little tense and youthful still, while displaying delightful perfumed elements and a crushed velvet texture. Wide and long, this feels like it will be super-seductive in a couple of years. | Decanter | 2023 | 92

Druiven: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 15% Petit Verdot

Château Moulin Riche, Cru Bourgeois in Saint-Julien is in handen van dezelfde eigenaar als Château Léoville Poyferré in Saint-Julien en Château Le Crock in Saint-Estèphe. Tot 2009 werd Château Moulin Riche gezien als de tweede wijn van Château Léoville Poyferré; in 2009 werd namelijk besloten om Château Moulin Riche te maken van eigen wijnstokken uit geselecteerde wijngaarden. Sindsdien is het een op opzichzelfstaande wijn. 20 hectare met 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 32% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot en 4% Cabernet Franc
