Intense and concentrated, lots of liquorice and clove mark the palate alongside ripe blackcurrant and plum. I love the cool freshness here, despite the clear oak, it wears it well with lots of minerality and such smooth, enveloping tannins. There is refinement to this, it hasn’t tried too hard to overdo it. Suave with a tiny bit of sweetness on the mid-palate and a long fresh finish. Finely textured with an appealing Cabernet signature of menthol and eucalyptus. A good effort, strong but stylish. | Decanter | 2023 | 94

Druiven: 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot

Het huidige Château Lynch-Moussas, cinquième grand cru classé in Pauillac, is een gedeelte van het enorme domein het ooit was. Vanwege de grootte werd het ooit opgesplitst in twee domeinen; Château Lynch-Moussas en Château Lynch Bages. Sinds 1919 zwaait de familie Casteja de scepter op Château Lynch-Moussas dat altijd nog bestaat uit zo’n 200 hectare, waarvan 60 aangeplant met wijnstokken; 70% Cabernet Sauvignon en 30% Merlot. Steeds beter wordende wijnen die baat hebben bij 7 tot 10 jaar flesrijping. Tweede wijn: Les Hautes de Lynch-Moussas.
