Tweede wijn van Château Giscours
Exotic spice on the nose, along with cedar, perfumed pine needles and blackcurrants. Juicy and sapid, gorgeous in both texture and mouthfeel. Tannins are fine and support the ripe black fruit. Lovely salinity, a feeling of crushed stones on the tongue with concentrated fruits. Direct and precise, elegant, balanced and so approachable. Supple, a tiny bit dry on the mid-palate but fresh and charming with liquorice and a minty-fresh finish. Great potential here, but wait three to five years. | Decanter | 2023 | 92

Château Giscours, troisième grand cru classé, uit Margaux. De eerste keer dat er melding wordt gemaakt van het domein is 1330. Vervolgens wordt er in 1552 melding gemaakt van Château Giscours in relatie tot het maken van wijn. In 1995 kwam Château Giscours in handen van de Nederlander Eric Albada Jelgersma en onder zijn eigenaarschap en met Alexander van Beek verantwoordelijk voor de productie van wijn verbeterde de kwaliteit van de wijn aanzienlijk. Château Giscours geniet vandaag de dag stevige reputatie als uitstekend en constant presterend wijngoed. 120 hectare wijngaarden is aangeplant met 60% cabernet sauvignon, 32% merlot, 5% cabernet franc en 3% petit verdot. Tweede wijn: La Sirène de Giscours. Tevens eigenaar van Château du Tertre, cinqième grand cru classé te Margaux.
