Enjoyable Médoc that has firm blackberry and raspberry fruits and plenty of push through the palate. The tannins are pretty tight but there is air between them and overall a good tension brought to the palate by juicy fruits. This is a high Merlot wine and you feel it in the generosity, but they have done a good job of dealing with summer heat. | Decanter | 2020 | 90

Druiven: 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon

In de 18e eeuw legt Baron de Brane de basis voor het huidige Château Coufran. Hij stond tevens aan de basis van Château Brane Mouton dat we vandaag de dag kennen als het prestigieuze Château Mouton Rothschild. 87 hectare wijngaarden bestaan voor 85% uit merlot en 15% cabernet sauvignon. En daarmee onderscheid Coufran zich met de rest van de wijnbouwers; men koos merlot voor de basis omdat deze wijn vroeger rijp is.
