Silky with touches of caramel, chocolate, blueberry, raspberries and boysenberries – all those autumnal fruits that have texture and acidity to them, with the signature gloss of Cantenac Brown. Clear peony, violet notes also. A linen texture that slows the passage of the wine through the mouth. Retasted at UGC and this is again good quality, the austerity on the tannins is marked right now, but there is plenty of life ahead here. | Decanter | 2022 | 94
Druiven: 67% Cabernet Sauvignon en 23% Merlot
Aan het begin van de 19e eeuw werd Château Cantenac Brown in Margaux, Troisième Grand Cru Classè, geheel in Tudorstijl gebouwd door de Schot John Lewis Brown. Sinds 2006 is het domein in handen van de familie Halabi en is Jose Sanfins verantwoordelijk voor de wijn. Waren de wijnen voorheen behoorlijk robuust, met Jose Sanfins aan het bewind werden de wijnen rijker/weelderiger en eleganter. 48 hectare zijn aangeplant met 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot en 5% Cabernet Franc. Tevens in eigendom Château Brown Lamartine, Bordeaux Supérieur. Tweede wijn Brio de Cantenac Brown.
