Structured and so appealing on the palate, this has a rich texture but doesn’t come across as too much. Filling but lifted giving freshness and ripe fruit. I love the delicacy of the tannins, this is finessed with so much detail on show. Feels cool and calm, not shouting, everything in harmony and delivering a really classically styled wine. Power is there for sure but this has poise too. A lovely Lagrange. | Decanter | 2025 | 96

Druiven:  86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot

Château Lagrange uit Saint-Julien is een Troisième Grand Cru Classé die wijnen produceert die helemaal vitaal zijn. Met 128 hectare is het een van de grotere domeinen in Bordaux op dit niveau. Sinds 1983 is het bezit van het Japanse Suntory. In de afgelopen decennia is er enorme geïnvesteerd in de wijnkeldere en de prodcutiemethodiek. Met 67% van de wijnstokken domineert Cabernet Sauvinon naast 27% Merlot en 6% Petit Verdot. Tweede wijn: Les Fiefs de Lagrange. Er wordt ook nog wat witte wijn geproduceerd; Les Arums de Lagrange.
