Blackcurrant, raspberry leaf, liquorice and wet stones on the nose. Smooth and supple with nice clarity. A little tight at the moment but great clarity and purity with blueberries and wet stones. So much minerality. Succulent and mouthwatering, this is generosity and friendliness in a glass built on a really crushed stone mineral base. 3.65pH. A yield of 33hl/ha. 6% Petit Verdot completes the blend. | Decanter | 2026 | 95

Château Branaire-Ducru, Quatrième Grand Cru uit Saint-Julien behoorde vroeger bij Château Beychevelle en werd verkocht na de dood van de eigenaar in de 18e eeuw. Sinds de familie Maroteaux het château overnam is er intensief gewerkt en geïnvesteerd om de kwaliteit te verbeteren. Vandaag de dag is Château Branaire-Ducru een consistent goed presterend wijndomein met wijnen die veel waar vor hun geld bieden. In totaal is 60 hectare aangeplant met 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc en 3% Petit Verdot.
