Beschrijving

The 2025 Suduiraut is pure Sémillon, picked mostly after October 10 (there was a first picking of more passerillé fruit that constituted around 10% of the blend). It is mainly from the second trie, with a last picking at the end of October. There were a total of 10 days of picking. This has a fragrant bouquet with wild honey, linseed, saffron and light orange pith scents that blossom in the glass, though I would not describe it as intense, but very pure. The palate is well balanced, with a viscous opening, very pure botrytised fruit and a killer line of acidity. There is no heaviness here, and despite the 158 g/L residual sugar, it feels light on its toes. Oh yes | Vinous | 2026 | 96-98

Druiven: 100% Semillon

Château Suduiraut, gelegen in Sauternes, is in 1855 geclassificeerd als Premier Grand Cru Classé. De 90 hectare wijngaarden zijn gelegen naast die van Château d’Yquem en bevinden zich op een ondergrond van gravel en zand, vlak bij de oevers van de Gironde. De vochtigheid van de rivier en diens aangrenzende stromen zorgen voor optimale omstandigheden voor de ontwikkeling van botrytis, nobele rot. De Grand Vin wordt altijd gedomineerd door Sémillon in combinatie met Sauvignon Blanc, hij rijpt op de lees gedurende 24 maanden in Frans eiken waarvan 50% nieuw. Château Suduiraut staat bekend om zijn consistente, weelderige wijnen met altijd een aangename frisheid. Tweede wijn: Castelnau de Suduiraut.
