The 2019 Smith Haut Lafitte Blanc has turned out very well in bottle, reflecting the estate’s volition to craft more structured, age-worthy whites. Offering up aromas of gooseberry, nectarine, mint and lemongrass mingled with hints of pastry cream, almond paste and smoke, it’s full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with a textural attack that segues into a fleshy but promisingly tightly wound mid-palate, concluding with a saline finish. Druiven: 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris, 5% Sémillon
Château Smith Haut Lafitte, Cru Classé, is een werkelijk schitterend domein en ook nog eens prachtig gelegen. Het is absoluut een van de sterren uit Pessac-Léognan. Bekend om zijn rode en witte Bordeaux. Sinds 1990 in het bezit van Daniel en Florence Cathiard en zij hebben Château Smith Haut Lafitte op de kaart gezet als een domein van kwaliteitswijn. Fraaie zuivere en rijke rode wijnen en volle, rijpe en sappige witte wijnen. Aangeplant voor rood: 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc en 1% Petit Verdot. Voor wit: 90% Sauvignon Blanc, 5% Sauvignon Gris en 5% Semillon. Tweede wijn; Les Hauts de Smith. Overig: Le Petit Haut Lafitte
