Gorgeous deep plum in colour, this hits you right from the first moment, plastering a smile on your face. The main takeaway is that it keeps all the power and brilliance of Palmer, but has a softness and a velvety texture that you wouldn’t find in Palmer at this young age. Gentle whisps of floral aromatics, clear emphasis on blackberry and brambly hedgerow fruits, the tannins are holding everything together tightly at six years old, but there is a beautiful feeling of expansion through the palate. Château Palmer, troisième Grand Cru Classé uit Margaux, behoorde van oorsprong tot het eigendom van Château d’Issan en kwam in handen van Charles Palmer begin 19e eeuw. Sinds dien kreeg het de naam “Palmer”. Vandaag de dag is Château Palmer voor het grootste gedeelte in het bezit van 2 families (Mahler Besse en Sichel). Volgens veel kenners is de kwaliteit van de wijn gelijk aan een tweede Cru en soms zelfs aan een eerste Cru. Er wordt 100% biodynamische wijnbouw toegepast op de 66 hectare wijngaarden die het Château telt. Château Palmer maakt weelderige, verfijnde, volle en krachtige wijnen met een belangrijke rol voor Merlot. Tweede wijn: Alter Ego de Palmer.
