In line with the rest of the St Estèphe appellation in terms of its plum colour and vivid violet rim, this is already promising to be easy to drink, with supple velvet tannins, cocoa bean, caramel, sweet blackberry fruits, fig tart, patisserie cream, spice red peppers, it retains the appealingly unfussy welcome of Ormes de Pez even with the ripe signatures of the vintage. Het sympathieke Château Ormes de Pez kent een oude geschiedenis die terug gaat naar de 16e eeuw. Sinds 1940 is het in bezit van de familie Cazes die tevens Château Lynch Bages bezit in Pauillac. Château Ormes de Pez staat voor constante hoge kwaliteit van haar wijnen. Rijke, vlezige wijnen met rijpingspotentie. De 40 hectare wijngaarden bestaan voor 50% uit cabernet sauvignon, 33% merlot, 10% cabernet franc en 2% petit verdot. Wijnstokken zijn gemiddeld 30 jaar.
