Green pepper, toasted wood and clove aromas with blackcurrant and violet aromas. This has a lovely weight and texture on the palate, a gentle sucrosity and succulence with mouthwatering acidity giving life to the ripe black fruits alongside cocoa powder, tobacco and typical Cabernet markers on the finish. Super charming, still with tension and direction – also with the spiced elements to the fore – but there is good persistence and a sense of contained power with very appealing minty touches. Druiven: 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, 6% Petit Verdot

Château du Tertre is een cinquième grand cru classé uit Margaux en is van dezelfde eigenaar als Château Giscours uit Margaux.Tidens de Tweede Wereldoorlog raakte het domein geheel in verval en het was pas 1961 toen Philippe Gasqueton het kocht en renovatie en herbeplanting realiseerde. Ook hier heeft Alexander van Beek de leiding als het gaat om het maken van de wijn net als bij Château Giscours. 80 hectare wijngaarden is aangeplant met 55% cabernet sauvignon, 20% merlot, 15% cabernet franc en 5% petit verdot. Wijnen met structuur, frisheid en fruit. Tweede wijn: Les Hauts du Tertre.
