Dauzac is an 1855 classified estate that is full of energy right now, and has created a sculpted, nuanced wine in 2022 that marries the concentrated black pepper and rosemary spice of the vintage with restrained black chocolate, slate, graphite and fresh mint signatures of the Left Bank. Enjoyable, with a wall of muscular tannins, shot through with oyster shell salinity. Druiven: 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot
Het domein van Château Dauzac Vijfde Grand Cru Classé uit Margaux bestaat sinds 1622. Na vele eigendomswisselingen is het i 1988 in handen gekomen van verzekeringsmaatschappij MAIF. André Lurton participeert vervolgens voor 42% en neemt het roer over als wijnmaker om 12 jaar later zijn dochter Christine het stokje over te dragen. De 45 hectare zijn aangeplant met 68% Cabernet Sauvignon en 32% Merlot. De stijl van Château Dauzac laat zich omschrijven als compacte, rijke en donkere wijnen die baat hebben bij 7 tot 9 jaar flesrijping.
